Welcome to the St. Mary's Primary
School Technology Center!
Saint Mary’s computer lab is housed with 25 student stationed
and a newly installed Activeboard. The students are provided
with the latest technology to assist them in achieving a higher level
of learning, as well as bringing their learning experience to life. The
Computer Lab integrates and supports
instruction throughout the school's curriculum.
Kindergarten
through fifth grade students have regularly scheduled computer lab of forty
minutes each week. The
lab is available for classrooms to use during other times as
well.
Let me give you a very brief description of the type of
activities we do in technology:
We begin Word Processing, Excel, PowerPoint,
Computer Components and Internet safety at the Kindergarten level. I keep their assignments
very short. Our Kindergarten students will learn how to find,
start and type their name in Microsoft Word.
Technology skills
are added as the student progresses to the next level. The children are exposed to software such
as, Kidspiration and Inspiration.
This lab is an
important part of our student's achievement at Saint Mary’s
Primary School. All
our K - 5 students have access to the computer lab and many
important skills are acquired with its continuous use. Our
students are using technology in meaningful ways to help them
achieve the standards across the curriculum. |
